The cable slides off the desk. You fish it up from behind the drawers. It slides off again tomorrow.
This is a weighted block with three channels in it that sits on the desk edge and holds the ends where you left them. It is not clever. It just has enough mass that pulling the cable moves the cable and not the block, which is the part cheaper versions get wrong.
Made and shipped by PhantomPrints, our sister workshop. Carried here because it fixes the same kind of small daily friction the guides do — and because a thing that removes one recurring annoyance is worth more than a system that manages it.
